I have always been attracted to color and style and have
dabbled in various arts and crafts throughout the years. But I was in my 40’s
before I discovered that I was an artist! My journey began by learning how to
string a simple bracelet and I’ve been creating beaded jewelry ever since.
Along the way I fell in love with lampwork beads and was soon melting glass
into my own unique artisan beads. I have no formal art background but have
found that I have an innate ability to work with colors and textures;
incorporating them into jewelry and beads has become my passion. I am excited
about where this unexpected journey will lead me next!
I am co-organizer of
West Michigan Bead Expo, the area’s first artisan bead show. I am also a Regional and District Director for the International Society of Glass Beadmakers. I have taught jewelry design through Bead
Together’s and community education classes in the Grand Rapids area for over five years. One of my Mobius Wave necklaces was featured in
an article in the October 2006 issue of Bead & Button Magazine as well as in two recently released books. In the summer of 2007 another necklace was part of the International Society of Glass
Beadmakers jewelry exhibit; Metamorphosis:
The Life Cycle of a Glass Bead, which was on exhibit at the Heinz History Center in
Pittsburgh, PA as well as Evoke Gallery in St. Paul, MN. Most importantly, I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan with my wonderfully supportive husband of 20+ years, Dave and our children Jordan and Brenna. Life is very, very good!
